Cycla — subdivision grammar

A tuning of time. Start from one measure and ask how it is cut; then how each cut is cut. Rules may recurse or self-reference, so meter becomes fractal. Depth in the tree is indispensability. Exports .cyc for TaboTa.

The flattened file is the depth-1 onset list (the original flat .cyc) sampled at the current depth — it drops into TaboTa's existing importer. The grammar file keeps the recursion and depth-aware snapping.

Top band: the subdivision tree — each stratum is one level deeper, cells tinted by level. Bottom band: the indispensability ruler — every onset is a tick whose height and weight come from the shallowest level it appears at. The downbeat is tallest; deeper cuts are progressively lighter. Snapping in the roll would round to the nearest tick at or above the chosen depth.
