Digital waveguide instrument

The Unbounded Organ

A one-dimensional physical waveguide evaluated across pipe lengths from 8.575 mm to 40,075 km. The model does not change; as the pipe length scales, its output shifts from a note to an echo, and eventually into a continuous drift.

Pipe

Set the pipe length across ten orders of magnitude. The readout reports the fundamental frequency, mode count, and acoustic regime.

Size comparison

Reference heights share the pipe’s scale. Pipe width is schematic. Earth is shown beside the straight pipe.

Digital Medium

The sample rate sets the represented frequency band, and the bit depth sets the output resolution.

Resonator

A bidirectional delay line produces the harmonic series mechanically. The table reports the phase dispersion of the fractional-delay interpolator.
