Insulae Incognita

xyh tamura

An archipelago written line by line from scripts once carried across the precolonial waters around Manila — Baybayin, Hanzi, Jawi, Kana, Devanagari, and their Unicode descendants. Language is the land and sea: a terrain that mutates as words translate into one another, never the same twice. A counter-map to terra nullius — islands that refuse to be fully known.
