standalone poem

speed

it’s all a blur
to you even if i’ve
told you many
times well it’s like what
I don’t want to say is
I think about how you look
at me sideways when we talk
like i’m too much or something
i think it’s cute but
either way i don’t
want to say it it’s going
to make things weird
I don’t like that
thing you do where you can
read several books alone
but you’re always still too
busy see I’m already
thinking far too fast
it’s my sickness
riding a motorcycle
i feel like I can bounce off of it
at any moment
why am i thinking
about this even when on the
brink of my spine snapping
in all the wrong places
my body sore
from balancing my weight
afraid the speed will annihilate me
but i feel myself this way
my whole body piercing
through layers of air
